Water pressure bluesSo what do you do if your house has too much water pressure coming in? For the six years we have had the house we are in now we have enjoyed good strong water pressure. We had one toilet hose break last year and cause some minor flooding. No big deal. Then we remodel the kitchen this year and the plumber goes wacky on us that we have too much pressure and it needs to get brought down in order to not hurt the new appliances and so on. OK we agree with him and so last night when we come home from a short trip we turn on the faucet and find that they have done some work in our absence. Now the water is a trickle of its former self. Yikes. So the question becomes do we have to live with this or can we tweak it back up to its former glory.
Now in your neighborhood the problem of too much water pressure coming into your house via the main may not be a problem. Perhaps you are shaking your head and saying wouldn't I love that problem as I have never had a strong flow of water in my house. However going from a good strong flow of water to the current trickle is like going from a five star hotel to a flea bag in one night. OK so maybe that is extreme in comparison but never the less we are interested in finding some resolution to the matter. I ran down to the store to see what solutions were available.
